The Hermeticor app adds an app embed and a form block to your theme. You do not edit theme code. It shows your published forms, places inline forms, and reads the cart for form cart rules.

What you need first

  • A site in Hermeticor (Sites → Add site) for your store's domain, and its site key. The key starts with hm_pk_ and is shown once, when you add the site.

  • An Online Store 2.0 theme (Dawn or any theme that supports app blocks).

1. Install the app

Install the Hermeticor app on your store from the install link, then open your theme editor.

2. Turn on the app embed

  1. Open Online Store → Themes → Customize.

  2. Click App embeds in the left sidebar and turn on Hermeticor.

  3. Paste your site key. Leave Endpoint as https://hermeticor.com.

  4. Choose the consent mode. Require consent (default) stores and sends nothing until the visitor allows analytics.

  5. Save.

Setting

What it does

Site key

Your hm_pk_… key.

Endpoint

https://hermeticor.com, unless you run your own Hermeticor.

Consent mode

Require consent, Opt out, or No consent banner.

Show published forms

Popups, fly-outs and inline forms.

Identify logged-in customers by email

Off by default. When on, a logged-in customer's email is sent, and only after they allow marketing.

Load a page of your store, then click Check install on the site in Hermeticor.

3. Place an inline form

Popups and fly-outs show on their own once published. For an inline form:

  1. In the theme editor, open the page and section where the form goes.

  2. Click Add block → Apps → Hermeticor form.

  3. Enter the form ID and save.

The form ID is the last part of the form editor's address in Hermeticor (/forms/<id>). The form must be the Embedded type and published. The app embed must be on; the block is only the place the form appears.

Cart rules

The app reads the store's cart when a page loads and again after products are added, changed or removed, so form cart rules work without code. The value is in your store's currency. The cart stays in the visitor's browser; it is not sent to Hermeticor.

The app follows Shopify's customer privacy settings: when your store's cookie banner records a choice, the visitor's analytics and marketing choices are passed to Hermeticor. With No consent banner the app does not ask. See Unsubscribe and suppression for how consent works in Hermeticor.

Remove it

Turn off the app embed, remove any Hermeticor form blocks, then uninstall the app from Settings → Apps.
